Glendale Self Catering Cottage and Studio are located in the picturesque crofting community of Portnalong on the Minginish peninsula of the Isle of Skye. Only 30 minutes by car from Skye’s capital Portree and 3 miles from Carbost where Skye’s famous Talisker Distillery is located, Glendale Cottage and Glendale Studio make a fabulous base to explore the wonders of this rugged and beautiful Scottish Island.
Set back from the road, with private parking in the driveway, these detached properties offer lovely views over Loch Harport to the front and the majestic Cuillin mountains of Skye at the back. Each property has access to its own enclosed space in the mature garden which has a burn running through it and is a haven for visiting birds.
Take a short walk to the sheltered harbour with slipway in Portnalong, a perfect spot to launch your boat, look for otters and white tailed eagles or simply watch the sun set.
Sit on the Cottage deck or the Studio patio at night, look up to the sky and gaze at the stars with the benefit of no light pollution. If you are very lucky you may even see the Aurora Borealis.
The Cottage has 3 bedrooms, sleeping 5 people and the Studio sleeps 3 in 2 bedrooms and can be booked individually or together for larger groups.
Dogs are welcome in both properties.
Whether you are visiting Skye for the challenge of climbing a munro or twelve, some gentle walking, the excitement of watching wildlife, to perfect your photography skills or just to unwind in a magical landscape, Glendale Cottage and Studio offer comfort and views to be enjoyed by all.
Make new memories, visit Skye
